Lavender & purple roses remind me of South Australia. As a child I visited my aunt there; flowers always seemed more vibrant & more fragrant in South Australia to me - has to do with the limestone soil or something like that. In my late teens my aunt moved out to Stansbury on the York peninsula - it was another world! Fields of lavender....vineyards. I remember visiting some friends of my aunts who had two young boys - Matthew & Anthony. They were so eager to show me something one day that the three of us hopped on bicycles & rode out to an isolated spot of the property. It was the rotting corpse of a red kangaroo. Anthony, who was about 10 years old at the time, grinned proudly, looked at me & said "it's sexy isn't it?", I laughed so hard it hurt.
