Here are some interesting facts about Bipolar disorder:
- approximately 6% of the population has bipolar disorder (may even be higher)
- is not a single disorder but a category of mood disorders
- between 10-15% of people with Bipolar commit suicide (highest of all mental illnesses)
- 80% chance that a family member also has Bipolar
It is said that people with Bipolar either get into 'sex' or 'religion' - I have taken both to extremes in the past but currently have quite a low libido (side effect of depression & meds) & am still searching in regards to the big question of 'God'. Maybe I'm getting somewhere after all?
