I received an email from a dear friend of mine this morning. She is currently in Northern Ireland living out her dreams. She mentioned that she had just watched "Chocolat" for the first time (one of my favourite films). It saddened me a little. Like my friend (& like Vianne in the film) I have dreamt of travel. To be a free spirit, a drifter who follows the North winds wherever they may blow. I now know that this is really not an option for me due to my illness, it demands routine & requires the help of a physician who knows it well. But like Vianne & Anouk perhaps it's time to let this restless spirit that inhabits me go - leave it free to roam as it pleases & let myself commit to a home... to a belonging.
