THE VALKYRIE

I can see them now
Approaching on their chariots
They ride into war
The Valkyrie,
Ready to administer their mark upon men
Odin’s charges,
Warrior maidens of light
Tell me, who will fight alongside the great god?
Who will see the battle at the end of the world?
She beckons me now,
Freyja, the mighty mistress of the slain
She crowns me victorious
She takes my armour
Retains my sword
And guides me onwards to Asgard
